HAL (she/they) is a comic artist based in the dusty prairies of Alberta, Canada. After graduating from the Alberta University of the Arts and receiving the Board of Governors Graduating Student Award for her major, they began developing ideas for independent comics and stories.

In 2022 they were published in the anthology “Alberta Comics: Home” by Renegade Arts Entertainment, and since then has become more involved in the local scene through artist talks and creator events.  They also have another anthology entry in the upcoming "Alberta Comics: Love" by the same publisher. 

HAL spent 2024 painting murals for the BUMP festival and working on their debut independent comic release TRAILMATES that was released through the Shortbox Comics Fair. 

These days HAL is busy at work on their ongoing comic MOONSNAIL published through Gytha Cooperative and releases a weekly webcomic THE WIND BENEATH THE ASPENS on Webtoons.

Her goal is to write and draw comics until either her hands fall off or she is killed in a freak crabbing accident, whichever comes first.
